After the successful 2005 appearance, the Tall Ships Race is returning back to Waterford in June 2011 with half a million people expected to visit this event.

Christian Radich

The four-day spectacle will see 70 vessels dock in the city from 30th June to 3rd July 2011.
After the success of 2005 the ambition is to attract more visitors to the south east with Christian Radich being the first tall ship to have been confirmed to return next year. This Norwegian vessel featured in the 1970s television series ‘The Onedin Line’ as well as being well known through the international release of the widescreen movie ‘Windjammer’ in 1958. When the Tall Ships leave Waterford after the Parade of Sail, competitors will race around Ireland’s south, west and north coasts to Greenock, Scotland.

The second race in the series will then go from Lerwick to Stavanger, Norway, from where the third and final race will take the fleet to Halmstad, Sweden.

To coincide with the tall ships being in port, there will be a comprehensive, family-friendly festival programme featuring the very best of Irish music, food and street theatre.

A friend of mine sent me link to this cool slow motion video. This video is shot with the SprintCam V3 HD, one and only HD fully integrated ultra slow-motion camera.

The SprintCam V3 HD offers unmatched frame rates and high definition native resolution image quality allowing user to capture from 500 to 1,000 frames per second and to replay them without delay. Incredibly, 20 to 40 times slower than usual speed, with HD native resolution image quality.

It’s pretty cool.

If there was a justice in this world, then tonight the justice has been served. The widely awaited final of the 2008 X Factor competition has its winner, the 20-year old Alexandra Burke. As the most consisted of all the contestants throughout the whole competition (and one that I have predicted to win just after her first appearance at audition), she was the one deserved to win.

She is an amazing singer with such a beautiful and powerful voice. I have never seen such a talent ever before. She has delivered one amazing performance after another on weekly basis, leaving the judges speechless. Every single week, she was far the best, and tonight duet with Beyonce, has just proved how great singer Alexandra is. I am delighted she has won. Alexandra’s debut single “Hallelujah” will be released midnight tonight to purchase.

I have to say this year competition has been the best so far. Well done to all finalist, and once again CONGRATULATION to Alexandra Burke, the 2008 X Factor winner.
