Years ago, a friend of mine was hurt in a car accident that wasn’t his fault. That day he was driving home from work when a car crashed into his from behind. It was a pretty bad accident as he hit the steering wheel with his face. The impact was so powerful that the steering wheel was literary broken in two half.

Long minutes of unconsciousness, ten hours face and leg surgery, months in the hospital and a year of recovery after. Unable to work and with almost no income he still had to pay the bills. Bank was unwilling to loan the funds and no lawsuit financing wasn’t around at that time.

The lawsuit was complicated and very expensive. It took three years before receiving the settlement with only little support from Social Welfare to make the whole process easier during those difficult years.
