Cher. An American pop singer, actress and record producer born in May 1946 in California. Thanks to the long lasting 40 years career, Cher become an icon in the pop music and one of the most popular and biggest selling artist in the history of pop music. Over the last 40 years, she sold more than a 250 million records around the whole world.
Her career has started sometime in 1965, singing duo with Sonny, lately know as Sonny & Cher. Together they released their first album called ‘Look at Us’ with the massive single hit ‘I Got You Babe’ which become an overnight hit and later in August 1965 reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The duo became a sensation, travelling and performing around the world.
Cher’s solo career has started later in 1965 releasing her debut solo album ‘All I Really Want to Do’. She has released 10 albums between the years 1965 – 1973 from which three songs topped the charts as a number one hit. In 1974 the first Greatest Hits of Cher is released.
Cher tickets at Ceasars Palace are the hottest venue in Las Vegas, where she is currently performing.
During her 40 years career, Cher accomplishments in music, television and film, she has won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, an Emmy Award and three Golden Globe Awards. Her smashing hit ‘Believe’ is the third biggest selling single record released by female artist worldwide, having sold over 10 million copies.
Coconut Recipes
Coconut is the fruit of the coconut palm (Cocos Nucifera). The origin of coconut plant is unknown. Most claims the home of the coconut is South Asia, while others claim South America. Regardless of its origin, the coconut has spread across much of the tropics, probably aided in many cases by sea-faring peoples, and become very popular in cooking as part of coconut recipes. The fruit is light and buoyant and presumably spread significant distances by marine currents. Some coconuts have been collected from the sea as far as Norway.
The coconut palm thrives on sandy soils and is highly tolerant of salinity. For optimum growth, coconuts need high humidity and prefer warm areas with abundant sunlight and regular rainfall, like shorelines of the tropics.
Botanically, a coconut is a simple dry nut known as a fibrous drupe. It is not fruit. The shell of the coconut has three pores that are clearly visible on the outside surface of the shell. Adhering to the inside wall of the shell is “the coconut meat”, the white and fleshy edible part of the seed.
Oh Canada…
A friend of mine just told me that he is going to Canada for three weeks. Just for his summer holidays. Man, I am jealous. They going to rent a car there and travel along the cost (I am not sure which one did he said. If I could leave my job for month or so and travel… He is fan of the western wear, and that is another good thing about Canada, as this western clothes are far more cheaper there than here in Dublin (or Europe).
